Privacy Policy

This policy covers the PocketLedger Android app, published by Kelbilos ("we", "us").

What you put into the app stays on your phone. We don't run a server for it, there is no account, and we can't see your records — not because we promise not to look, but because there is no mechanism by which we could.

What you put into the app

Your customers' names and phone numbers, the credit and payments you log against them, and the balances that result are stored in a database on your device and only there. None of it is transmitted to us or to any server we control.

The flip side is that keeping it safe is your job, not ours. If you uninstall the app, reset your phone or lose it, that data goes with it and we cannot recover it — we never had a copy.

Reminders and exported files

When you send a payment reminder, the app opens WhatsApp or your SMS app with the customer's number and the message already written. Nothing is sent until you send it. Once you do, that message is in the hands of WhatsApp or your mobile network, governed by their terms rather than ours.

Exporting the book writes a file to your device. Everything after that is yours to do: keep it, move it to another phone, send it wherever you like. There is no upload step, and the file does not go anywhere on its own.

Subscriptions (Google Play Billing)

Payment is handled end to end by Google Play Billing. Your card number and billing address go to Google — we never see them, never receive them, and have nowhere to store them even if we wanted to.

The subscription lives in your Google account, which is also where you cancel it. Cancelling is between you and Google; it does not involve us and we cannot do it on your behalf.

Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads supplied by Google AdMob. Subscribers do not see them. To serve and measure those ads, AdMob collects information from your device:

• your advertising identifier, used to make ads more relevant and to stop the same one repeating endlessly;
• your approximate location, worked out from signals such as your IP address, so the ads are at least in the right country — the app never asks for precise location;
• ordinary delivery data: device type, Android version, whether an ad was shown and whether you tapped it.

Google collects that, not us. What reaches us is a count: impressions and revenue, aggregated, with no way back to any individual.

You can reset or delete your advertising identifier, and turn off personalised ads entirely, under Settings → Privacy → Ads on your phone.

What we don't collect

There is no analytics in this app. No crash reporting, no usage tracking, nothing of ours phoning home. We don't sell personal data and we don't share your records with anyone, which is an easy commitment to keep when we have no way to reach them.

The app also doesn't read your phone's contacts. The numbers it knows are the ones you typed into it.

Deleting your data

There is no account to delete. To remove everything, clear the app's storage under Settings → Apps → PocketLedger → Storage, or uninstall the app. You don't need to ask us, and neither route can be undone.

Children

This is a tool for adults running a business. It isn't aimed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect anything from them.

One thing worth saying plainly, because the app is about other people's debts: the customers you record here haven't agreed to this policy — you are the one holding their information, and wherever you are that carries obligations of its own.

Your rights

For what is in the app, you already have every right you could ask us for: it is on your phone, so you can read it, change it and delete it whenever you like, without our involvement.

For what Google collects, the route is your Google Account settings, since they hold that data and we don't.

Which rights you hold depends on where you are — the DPDP Act in India, the LGPD in Brazil, the PDP Law in Indonesia, the GDPR in the EU/EEA and UK. The mechanism is the same in each case.
